A stenographer is a third-party impartial witness who uses shorthand to provide accurate verbatim transcripts of conversations within meetings and hearings where it is not possible to record the proceedings.
Our court reporter stenographer team uses either “pen-and-paper” shorthand or machine shorthand to produce verbatim transcripts. A “pen-and-paper” stenographer can record up to 200 words per minute, and a stenographer who uses a stenograph (a highly specialised machine with only 22 pre-programmed keys) can record up to 375 words per minute. This means that, as a Pacific Transcription client, you receive your complete and accurate verbatim transcripts more quickly than if you used a professional typist, saving you time and money.
Our standard turnaround for transcripts produced by our stenographers is five business days after the event.
